One of the Authority’s largest neighborhood investments is now taking shape. The Live Oak Street Improvements Project is rebuilding the street from Pierce to Truxillo to create a safer, more walkable and more welcoming neighborhood. When the work is complete, residents will see:
A rebuilt roadway
Open ditches replaced with an enclosed storm sewer
Accessible sidewalks + ramps
Landscaping + streetscape
The Authority hosted a community meeting to walk residents through the Live Oak project, explained what to expect and answered questions. Construction is expected to be completed in mid 2027. For weekly construction updates, visit the OST/Almeda Facebook page.

A Look Ahead
Greater Third Ward Neighborhood Streets - B will bring new streets, curbs, gutters, and upgraded infrastructure to Tuam, Anita, Rosalie, Stuart, Francis, and St. Charles streets. Together, these improvements will enhance mobility, neighborhood character, and quality of life throughout Greater Third Ward. The project is estimated to be complete in early 2028. Continuing Our Investment in MacGregor Park
MacGregor Park is a valued community gathering place for families, neighbors, athletes, and visitors. In FY26, the Authority completed scheduled funding for MacGregor Park Improvements, continuing a long-term investment in this important community space.

Peggy Park Gets a Refresh
Peggy Park received a refresh this summer with improvements that enhance the park’s appearance and functionality, creating a more welcoming neighborhood space. You’ll see a refreshed look throughout the park, including the equipment, shade structure, and basketball pavilion on your next visit.
